At Smith River Baptist Church, it is our desire to not only honor Christ in our lives, but to honor His Church and give of our lives in humble service by building up the body of Christ that they may achieve full maturity within Him. We pray that our lives inspire you to a deeper involvement and commitment in serving Christ at Smith River Baptist Church though our ministries.

Six 78 exists to make disciples of the Middle School Students by partnering with families in building the foundation of a Biblical world view that encourages Christ centered living in all aspects of their daily lives.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1-2

Our goal is that every person that walks through the doors of our church would at some point choose to be a part of Life groups. We believe that the following Christ happens during our regular work week not just in a service on Sunday. Groups will be developed by topic, age, or simply location and will be held in different homes. These groups are essential for the discipleship, growth, support, encouragement, and unity. Life groups are intended to be a place where you can expect to talk and ask questions. Each week there will be time for prayer and encouragement within your group. We hope that each life group would reach out in service to their community and meet the practical needs of the people within their group. Our desire is that all of our Life Groups start to feel like family. Life groups help make disciples.
1. Understand the Bible better through group discussion as you apply the Bible to your own personal situations.
2. Develop close relationships with other believers who will walk beside you in your journey as a Christ follower.
3. Find answers to the needs in your life through group prayer.
4. Get support in times of crisis or major changes from people who really care for you.
5. Demonstrate to your lost friends the love of Christ in a non-church setting.
6. Move from being a spectator to a participant by using your gifts and talents as you serve others.
Be committed to being there:
Determine whether or not you can make the majority of the meetings, if not consider waiting to join till you have enough time to commit more faithfully to your group. A group can not function the way it was intended with lack of commitment by its members.
Be confidential in your speech:
Nothing can destroy unity and love within a group faster than gossip. People being willing to share openly and give life testimonies in Life Groups help shape a family that cares for each other. Everything that is shared within a Life Group should remain confidential.
Be cool. Show some love:
The group will operate best when everyone has had a chance to share. Dominating every conversation is not helpful in cultivating the family atmosphere that we are trying to create. Life Groups are not just about you. Please be sensitive to the dynamics of being a part of a group and your place in it.
Get connected with other women through weekly bible study. We offer two different times for women to meet. Tuesday’s at 9:30 am and Wednesday at 6:30 pm, both meeting at the church.

We are doing a Bible study at the church called Created to be His Help Meet, by Debi Pearl every 2nd and 4th Monday morning at 10:30-12:00 at the church. Chris Liles is the AMAZING baby sitter during that time if ladies do NOT have other child care. We also set up meals for new moms, come up with work/service projects to help others in need (or each other) and try to get together for lunch the first Wednesday of each month.
We have a “group” on Facebook for last minute updates, but any mommy wanting to know more about it can call or text Donna Presler at 707-954-2119.
Men’s Bible study meets for breakfast and Bible study at the church on Thursday morning @ 9:00 am.
