I was born just outside Detroit, Michigan 1950. I grew up attending Ryan Road Baptist Church in Warren, Mich. My dad was a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. My mom also taught Sunday School and sang solos and sang in the Choir. I thank the Lord for my Christian Heritage and family. However, being raised in a Christian home didn’t make me a Christian, nor does it you. I had to come to the place when I accepted Christ into my life and put my faith in Him.
In 1968, I graduated from Cousino High School and left home to attend Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO., and later Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN. Since then, I have studied at Shasta Bible College (Redding, CA.) and taken classes online through Liberty University(Lynchburg,VA.). My goal is to further my education by getting a Masters Degree in Counseling.
My wife Karen and I, were married December 30th, 1972. We have two sons and a daughter and they have given us seven wonderful grandchildren. I also have the best daughter-in-laws and son-in-law you could ask for.
I have been in the ministry since 1972 serving in areas of Youth Pastor, Music Director, Christian Education Director, and now I have the pleasure of being the Pastor of some of the greatest people in the world at Smith River Baptist Church.
My likes: Playing with my grandchildren! Food: In-N-Out Burger, Zollas Pizza (Brookings, Oregon), Ghiradelli Hot Fudge Sunday, and my wife’s cooking. Sports: Oregon Ducks, SF Giants, 49ers, Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers as long as the Giants are not playing them. I also like to run at the gym, my goal is to run in a 5.k race, surf, and look forward to surfing with my grandchildren, play golf and take my boys and son-n-law down in Madden football.
Places I have visited and want to go back to: Maui (very much so), Disneyland with the family, Paris, Greece, England, and one day Italy.
My passion: Teaching and sharing the truth of Gods Word, making it relevant and seeing lives changed.
We live in a world that needs Jesus, and I want to be a part of the process that takes the gospel not only around the world, but also here at home.
